Classification of Dry Ice Making Machines

Dry ice making machines are ice maker machines that convert liquid carbon dioxide (LCO2) into solid carbon dioxide (dry ice). These dry ice production machines are classified based on dry ice shape, production capacity, level of automation, and equipment structure, as follows:

I.Classification by dry ice shape

  1. Dry ice pelletizer: Used to produce dry ice pellets of various diameters (e.g., 3mm, 19mm); these pellets are utilized for dry ice blasting cleaning, refrigeration, and creating fog effects.
  2. Dry ice block maker machine and dry ice briquetting machine: Used to produce dry ice blocks or slices in various specifications (e.g., 500g, 1kg, 5kg); these blocks are utilized for food refrigeration, cold chain logistics, etc.

II.Classification by Production Capacity

  1. Small-scale dry ice makers: These feature lower production capacities (e.g., 5 kg/h, 30 kg/h, 50 kg/h) and are compact and portable, suitable for small-scale users such as restaurants, bars, hotels, laboratories, and startups.
  2. Medium-scale dry ice makers: These offer moderate production capacities (e.g., Sichuan Aosituo PE180 and PE360 models) and are suitable for medium-sized users such as gas distribution stations, gas companies, dry ice suppliers, e-commerce businesses, and cold chain logistics companies.
  3. Large-scale dry ice makers and dry ice production lines: These feature high production capacities (e.g., Coldjet 500 kg/h and 1000 kg/h lines) and typically consist of integrated units such as dry ice pelletizers, dry ice block makers, and dry ice packaging machines; they are suitable for gas companies, chemical enterprises, and cold chain logistics firms engaged in large-scale industrial dry ice production.

III.Classification by Automation Level

  1. Manual/Semi-automatic dry ice making machines: These feature a simple structure and require manual assistance—such as manual CO2 feeding or manual ice pressing. They are suitable for users with limited budgets or low production output requirements, the production efficiency is relatively low.
  2. Fully Automatic dry ice making machines: These feature automatic CO2 feeding, continuous ice pressing, and automatic dry ice packaging capabilities. They offer high production efficiency and are suitable for users requiring high output and continuous operation.

IV.Classification by Equipment Structure

  1. Single-function dry ice making machines: These are dedicated units designed to produce only one specific type of dry ice, such as standard dry ice pelletizer machines or dry ice block maker machines.
  2. Integrated dry ice making machines: These combine the production of dry ice pellets and blocks into a single unit, or integrate dry ice manufacturing with dry ice cleaning capabilities.
